More than two decades of learning. Thousands of families. Here is what some of them have shared — and how you can share your own experience too.
"Every great journey starts with small steps. Mine began in a little classroom filled with red uniforms, storybooks, caring teachers, and endless possibilities."
Looking back at photos from my playgroup days nearly 20 years ago, it's amazing to see how the little girl in the bright red uniform has grown into a university student pursuing her dreams today.
At first glance, these photos simply capture moments of play, laughter, birthday celebrations, story time, and friendships. But behind every activity was a foundation being built — one that would quietly shape the person I would become.
My playgroup was more than just a place where I spent my early childhood years. It was where I first learned how to interact with others, share, take turns, communicate my thoughts, and develop confidence outside the comfort of home. Through group activities and guided play, I learned valuable social and emotional skills that continue to serve me even today.
The reading corners, storytelling sessions, and hands-on learning experiences nurtured a curiosity that eventually grew into a love for learning. The encouragement from teachers helped me believe in myself, while the structured yet caring environment taught me discipline, resilience, and independence.
What I appreciate most now is that my teachers probably did not realise the long-lasting impact they were making. The songs, games, conversations, and daily routines may have seemed ordinary at the time, but they contributed to the development of important life skills that cannot always be measured in academic results.
Today, as a university student, I carry with me the values that were first planted during those early years. My journey has been shaped by many people and experiences, but my playgroup was where it all began.
These photos are a beautiful reminder that education is not only about preparing children for school — it is about nurturing confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.
A small sample from families across our programmes and centres.
"My daughter has been with Star Tots since she was 20 months. The teachers are warm and patient — she cried the first week, but by week three she was running in ahead of me. Now at 3 she recognises all her letters and counts to twenty. More importantly, she loves going."
"My son's English and Maths jumped a full grade in one year at Edufarm tuition. The teacher noticed early that he was struggling with word problems and gave him specific strategies. His PSLE prep started here and I'm confident."
"I'm a grandparent who brings my granddaughter twice a week. The centre is nearby, the staff are friendly, and she always comes home excited about what she learnt. The two hours is perfect — not too long. We've been coming for a year and I'd recommend it to every nainai."
"The Letterland Phonics programme is genuinely amazing. After just one term my son could blend three-letter words independently. He used to guess from the pictures — now he actually reads the words. His P1 teacher mentioned in the first week that his phonics was strong."
"My daughter has been doing 3G Abacus for 18 months. She can now calculate sums in her head faster than I can on my phone — and she's only 8. The focus and concentration she has developed spills into everything else she does at school."
"We attended a Chinese New Year kueh workshop and it was the most fun our family has had in years. Three generations — my parents, my husband and I, and our two kids — all making angku kueh together. The instructor was knowledgeable and patient. We'll be back."
