Phonics and tuition classes run at 35 of those centres. Use the postal code finder on the playgroup page or the phonics page to find your nearest centre.
What age groups does Edufarm cater to?
Edufarm serves children from 18 months through to secondary school. Star Tots Playgroup is for 18 months–3 years. Letterland Phonics runs for ages 4–7 (N2 to P1). Primary tuition covers P1–P6 in English, Maths and Science. Chinese language classes run from pre-school through to secondary.
How do I register for a programme?
Complete the online registration form, or WhatsApp 9186 6763 (tuition, phonics, enrichment) or 8138 3440 (Star Tots Playgroup). The team will confirm your nearest centre, available timeslots and next intake date.
Does Edufarm offer enrichment classes?
Yes. Edufarm Enrichment Studio offers creative art, abacus mental maths, and other programmes for children. See the enrichment page for current offerings and schedules.
Is Edufarm on MOE's list of registered providers?
Edufarm Learning Centre has been nurturing young learners in Singapore since 2002. Star Tots Playgroup has been recognised as Best Quality Preschool Education at an Affordable Fee by Parents World Singapore. All Edufarm programmes operate in compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements for enrichment and tuition centres.

Star Tots Playgroup

What is Star Tots Playgroup?
Star Tots Playgroup (星星宝贝小豆豆班) is Edufarm's award-winning playgroup for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years. It runs two hours every weekday following MOE school terms, at 68 centres across Singapore. The weekly curriculum has a different focus each day: Letterland Phonics Monday, thematic English Tuesday, early maths Wednesday, Montessori practical life Thursday, games and art Friday.
How much does Star Tots Playgroup cost?
Monthly fee is $190 + $40 materials = $230/month. One-time joining fees: $40 registration, $50 uniform (two sets), $80 miscellaneous. No hidden extras — that is the all-in cost. Star Tots was recognised specifically for offering quality education at an affordable fee.
What age should my child start playgroup?
Most children are ready around 18 months — walking steadily, curious about other children, and able to manage a short stretch away from their main caregiver. Some take two weeks to settle, some take two months; both are entirely normal. Star Tots has a structured settling-in approach. Read our full playgroup guide for more.
What is the teacher-to-child ratio?
Each Star Tots class runs with a certified lead teacher and an assistant for a class of 10–16 toddlers. Every child is known by name. Lead teachers hold early-childhood educator certification.
Does my child need to be potty-trained to join?
No. Toddlers enrolling at 18 months are not expected to be fully potty-trained. Teachers and assistants support children during the session. Contact the centre team to discuss your child's current stage.
Does Star Tots follow MOE school terms?
Yes — Star Tots follows the same school terms as MOE's primary and preschool calendar. This means scheduled breaks align with family plans and the programme is structured with clear term progressions.
Is there a Mandarin component in the playgroup?
Yes. Bilingual elements — Chinese songs, stories and vocabulary — are woven through the week. Early Mandarin exposure is most effective at this age, and Star Tots builds it in naturally alongside the English-medium curriculum.
Can I visit and watch a class before enrolling?
Yes. WhatsApp us at 8138 3440 to arrange a visit. Any centre proud of its classes will welcome you. See the children in action before you decide.

Letterland Phonics

What age is Letterland Phonics suitable for?
Letterland is designed for ages 4–7 — from Nursery 2 (N2) through Primary 1. It is particularly valuable for children entering K1 or K2 who need solid reading foundations before Primary 1, and for P1 children still developing decoding skills.
What is Letterland and why does Edufarm use it?
Letterland is a UK-developed systematic synthetic phonics programme validated by the UK Department for Education and used in over 110 countries. Every letter has a memorable story character — Bouncy Ben (B), Clever Cat (C), Sammy Snake (S) — making abstract sounds concrete. Edufarm is an authorised Letterland teaching centre in Singapore. Read our Letterland guide for a full explanation.
How many levels are there and how long does each take?
Three levels. Level 1 (approximately 6 months): all 26 letter sounds, letter formation and basic CVC word blending. Level 2 (approximately 6 months): consonant blends, common digraphs (sh, ch, th, wh). Level 3: long vowel patterns, complex digraphs and reading fluency. Children completing Level 3 read simple books independently.
My child is already in Primary 1. Is it too late for phonics?
Not at all. A child of 7 can learn phonics quickly with structured instruction. If your P1 child is struggling with reading — slow to decode, guessing words from pictures — phonics is the right intervention. Contact us to discuss which level is the right starting point.

Primary Tuition & PSLE

What subjects does Edufarm's primary tuition cover?
Edufarm's primary tuition covers English Language, Mathematics and Science for Primary 1 to Primary 6, including PSLE preparation for P5 and P6. Chinese language is a separate specialist programme. Call 6715 8458 for enquiries.
How does the PSLE AL system work?
Each PSLE subject is scored AL1–AL8 (AL1 is best). Your child's total score is the sum of four subject ALs, ranging from 4 (best) to 32. Unlike the old T-score, bands are fixed — not relative to other children. The strategic implication: improving the weakest subject gives a much bigger return than polishing an already-strong one. Read our full PSLE AL guide.
When should my child start Primary 1 tuition?
The best time is before they fall behind. Many parents start in P1 or P2 to build strong foundations in English and Maths rather than waiting until P4 or P5 when gaps become harder to close. Early structured support makes PSLE preparation far less stressful.

Chinese Language

What does Edufarm's Chinese programme focus on?
Edufarm's Chinese programme leads with comprehension technique — the section where most marks are lost and most tuition centres are weakest. Every class combines structured comprehension practice, storybook reading-response to build vocabulary naturally, weekly conversation practice and Chinese cultural context. Read our guide on raising a child who loves Chinese.
What levels does the Chinese programme cover?
Pre-school through to secondary. For young children the focus is building a positive relationship with Mandarin through songs, stories and play. For primary students, structured comprehension and composition technique is introduced. For secondary students, essay craft and oral confidence for O-Levels. Call 6715 8458 to discuss your child's starting point.
My child dislikes Chinese. Can tuition help?
Yes — but the mindset matters as much as the method. Most Singapore children dislike Chinese because they met it first as a tested subject, not as a living language. Edufarm's approach weaves culture, stories and conversation into every lesson so students start to see Chinese as something interesting, not just something to pass. See our guide: Raising a child who loves Chinese.
