About the tour

J.I.A.K 99 at Singapore Flyer takes its name from Hokkien for "eat until you are full." It's a guided experience, roughly 45 minutes to an hour, that takes visitors through four different Singapore food cultures — Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian — via interactive exhibits and tasting sessions, with food samplers served in a specially customised tingkat. J.I.A.K 99 is part of the SG Culture Pass programme lineup, a Singapore government-recognised cultural experience.

Edufarm curates this into a fuller afternoon for seniors' groups — the food stories bring back genuine nostalgia, the multi-racial format suits multi-generational and multi-cultural groups alike, and the pace stays gentle with plenty of seated tasting along the way.

What your group will see and do.

A guided afternoon through four food cultures, with hands-on crafts and tastings along the way.

🗺️

A guided journey through four food cultures

Over roughly 45 minutes to an hour, a guide leads the group through interactive exhibits and tasting sessions covering Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian food traditions — the stories behind Singapore's hawker culture, told through the dishes themselves.

🍱

A tingkat high-tea tasting

Curated food samplers are served in a specially customised tingkat — the traditional tiered food carrier many seniors grew up packing lunches in. It's a nostalgic format that turns the tasting itself into a talking point.

🌸

Hands-on heritage crafts

Hands-on heritage crafts like Peranakan sand art and flower garland making give each participant a keepsake to take home — a fresh jasmine wrist garland or a Peranakan tile, made by their own hands.

🧋

A DIY food workshop

An optional Chef's Table add-on brings the group into a hands-on cooking session, preparing local favourites such as muah chee, ondeh-ondeh or teh tarik — a fun, active close to the tour.
